Do you want to lose weight and have a great body? Well, here's how I am!
ughh! So hard, but satisfying at the same time. Sorry, this is long, but it’s the honest-to-God truth that I follow. This “diet” will get you toned up and feeling better about yourself.
Trying to loses the belly fat on my stomach and tone my body is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.
No soda! Not even diet soda.
No fast food! Obviously in this day and age, it’s not that easy to avoid fast food, but if you avoid it long enough, your body will start to reject it and you’ll get sick if you start eating it again.
Drink water… TONS AND TONS of it. For me, I naturally prefer water over almost any other drink. But if you get tired of drinking water all the time, try drinking unsweetened Ice Tea. Yes, unsweetened. Don’t go adding sugar.
Eat oatmeal… EVERY MORNING! For some people it’s hard to do this, because they say it taste bland, but try adding a banana or cut up some apple slices to put into it. Oatmeal is so good for you, plus it makes you poop! xD
Eat a piece of fruit and/or vegetable with EVERY MEAL! Plain and simple. Also, eating an apple a day may not keep the doctor away in everyone’s case, but it does seem to give me a natural boost of energy at the beginning of the day.
Have three meals. Eat like a king for breakfast! Eat barely enough for one person for lunch. Eat almost half of a full meal for dinner. Hopefully you get what I’m saying. It’s like this: Breakfast = 1&1/2 of a usual meal; Lunch = 9/10 of a usual meal; Dinner = 1/2 of a usual meal. This may seem weird, but it’s the best thing for your body. And if you get hungry in-between these meals, eat a piece of fruit or nibble on almonds.
Don’t count carbs/calories/etc. It’ll only make you sad, mean, easy to annoy, etc. Remember, if you’re craving some vanilla ice-cream after not having some for a long time, indulge! Just don’t go overboard. Eat it with a fruit after you’ve gone running (if you run in the evening) so your body can burn it up even faster (running temporarily speeds up your metabolism). Also, use small plates and little bowls to eat your food. It makes it look like you have more food on your plate so your mind gets full more quickly. Oh yeah, seconds are strongly discouraged! The only times I encourage getting seconds, is for breakfast. Period.
Running. Over the course of a month and a half, I’ve built my running tolerance to running 4 miles every other day. Don’t push yourself too hard if you haven’t ran in a long time, though. Start out with a mile every other day. Then, slowly build yourself up. If you consider yourself obese or very overweight, try eating healthy first and then power-walking a couple of miles every other day. Also, you may think running doesn’t do anything to help your fat and stomach areas, but running works out your ENTIRE BODY! Of course your legs will get “muscled” much faster, but you’ll feel the core of your stomach permanently tighten. I used to have a flabby belly with a squishy core (like if you pushed your hand on my stomach, there was no definition). Currently, I have a little bit of some stomach fat, but if your press your hand to my stomach, it’s all tight. Pretty soon the fat in that area will be gone because the abdominal muscles will slowly burn the fat as they constrict and tighten while I’m running. Also, don’t run on treadmills, unless you absolutely must. Running outside is so much more refreshing and it works out your body more, because your moving around obstacles you normally wouldn’t on a treadmill. Oh yeah, running on dirt is much better on your legs than running on cement.
Health issues. I myself have a form of seizures and mild-sevrere environmental allergies (depending on the season). I can honestly say that the amount of seizures I used to have weekly have gone down. My allergies have also decreased and I honestly believe all of this is happening because I’m taking better care of my body!
Remember, if you start eating healthy and working out, this isn’t a diet you’re going on, it’s a lifestyle! If you keep at it until you die, you’ll love the way your body looks!
Lastly, look at yourself in the mirror… NAKED! We all do this, just some don’t like to admit. When I first started on this new lifestyle, I couldn’t stop looking at myself everyday to see what was improving, and what wasn’t. I started to get discouraged, because I wasn’t seeing quick enough results, but after a couple of weeks, I did. So my advice is, look at yourself maybe once a week. Weekly, you’ll notice bulges of fat getting smaller and it’ll motivate you even more to keep on going!
If you think I’m some kid who doesn’t know what I’m talking about, my dad used to run marathons and literally had a perfect body in his “hay day.” I’ve learned from him and I’ve also learned from trial and error on myself. If you follow this, you’ll start to adapt it to your own lifestyle and it’ll do wonders for you. I’ve thought about adding pictures of my progress, but I’m not sure. Maybe I will once I’ve accomplished a body I’m truly happy with. If you have any questions, feel free to message me. Thanks and GOOD LUCK!!!!
